1. Go mountain biking
If you both share a passion for mountain biking, find a local trail or ski resort that runs their lifts in the summertime and bike down the mountain.
2. Visit an amusement park
If you’re both roller coaster fans, an amusement park is a perfect date idea for you.
3. Go to the beach
If you live near the ocean, pack a picnic and take a trip to the beach to relax and unwind.
4. Have a pool day
Not close enough to a beach to take a day trip? Find a nearby outdoor pool or water park and enjoy some fun in the sun.
5. Go to a driving range
If you and your date aren’t big golfers, go to a golf course and just get a bucket of balls to hit at the driving range. It’s simple, cheap and fun.
6. Create a Summer bucket list
If your relationship is a little more advanced and you plan on spending more time together, make a bucket list of activities you want to do together during the summer and plan your following dates accordingly.
7. Go fishing
If you both need to unwind and want to catch dinner for yourselves, hit a locally stocked lake or reservoir for some quality time fishing.
8. Have a BBQ dinner for two
Choose your favorite meats and veggies and grill your dinner together!
9. Have a water balloon fight
For a fun walk down your childhood memory lane, fill up a cooler of water balloons and go to town. Loser owes the other one ice cream.
10. Frisbee golf
Frisbee golf is fun for all skill levels and courses are fairly common in many areas and courses are generally easy to find.
11. Go paddle boarding or kayaking
Renting paddle boards or kayaks for a day and going to a local lake or reservoir may just be one of your favorite things you’ve ever done.
12. Go to a firework show
Find a local firework show, take a blanket and some snacks and enjoy!
13. Rent a convertible for a day
Never ridden in a convertible? It’s a must. Rent one for a few hours or a day and take a scenic drive.
14. Draw with sidewalk chalk
Channel your inner child and make your best sidewalk chalk creations together.
15. Go to a local carnival
Traveling carnivals are prevalent in the summertime. Find one near you and see who can go on the most rides without throwing up. Just kidding (kind of).
16. Find local outdoor concert or music festival
Many cities have outdoor movies and music during the summer. Check in on community websites to find out about local events that would draw your interest.
17. Watch the sunset together
Nothing beats a summer sunset. Find a view spot and chat over a majestic sunset.
18. Fly a Kite
Try your hand at the age-old challenge of flying a kite. It might work – it might not – but you’ll have fun trying!
19. Tube down a local river
Cool off on a hot day by doing a river float. Make sure you check the conditions of the river before you go.
20. Go on a sunrise hike
Not a morning person? Make an exception and invite your date on a hike to see the sunrise. You won’t regret it.
21. Pick berries
Find a local farmer or a friend or family member with a garden and ask if you can pick some berries together. Then make berry tarts or just eat them plain because they’re that good.
